How chemistry works in FC 27
In FC 27 Ultimate Team, each starter can earn up to 3 chemistry points, for a squad maximum of 33. Points come from how many teammates share a player's club, nation and league — counts include the player themselves, across all 11 starters. Points from the three categories add up, then are capped at 3 per player.
| Shared with | +1 point | +2 points | +3 points |
| Club | 2 players | 4 players | 7 players |
| Nation | 2 players | 5 players | 8 players |
| League | 3 players | 5 players | 8 players |
- Example: a player with 2 same-club teammates (+1 club) and 5 same-league teammates (+2 league) reaches 3 chemistry.
- Manager bonus: a manager gives +1 to every starter sharing their league or nation (still capped at 3).
- Position matters: a player out of position gets 0 chemistry and doesn't help teammates.
- FC 27 changes vs FC 26: base thresholds are identical; only ICONs and Heroes were retuned (ICON nation link +2 → +1, Hero league link +2 → +1).
ICON, Hero and Hall of FUT cards
Special cards always have 3 chemistry in their preferred position — but they link differently in FC 27:
- ICON: gives a +1 league link to every league in your squad, plus a +1 nation link (cut from +2 in FC 26). No club links — ICONs have no club.
- Hero: gives a +1 league link to its own league (cut from +2 in FC 26) plus a +1 nation link. Club links work like a normal player.
- Hall of FUT: uses the same chemistry rules as Heroes.

FAQ
How does this FC 27 chemistry calculator work?
Add your 11 starters and pick each player's nation, league and club. The calculator counts shared clubs, leagues and nations, converts them into 0–3 chemistry points per player using FC 27's official thresholds, and totals your squad out of 33.
How do you get 33 chemistry in FC 27?
Every starter must reach 3 chemistry points. The easiest path is stacking one league (8+ players from the same league gives +3 league points each) plus club links (7 from the same club gives +3 club points). Use the per-player advice above to find the cheapest fixes for weak links.
What are the chemistry thresholds in FC 27?
Club: 2 players = +1, 4 = +2, 7 = +3. Nation: 2 = +1, 5 = +2, 8 = +3. League: 3 = +1, 5 = +2, 8 = +3. Points from club, league and nation add up, capped at 3 per player.
Do chemistry points from club, league and nation add up?
Yes. Each category is scored independently and summed, then capped at 3. For example, +1 from club links plus +2 from league links gives a player full 3 chemistry.
Do managers give chemistry in FC 27?
Yes — +1 to every starter sharing the manager's league or nation, up to the 3-point cap. Add your manager in the calculator to include the bonus.
What changed about chemistry in FC 27 vs FC 26?
The base thresholds didn't change. The retune hit special items: ICONs now give +1 (was +2) nation contribution while keeping +1 to every league; Heroes give +1 (was +2) league contribution while keeping +1 nation; the new Hall of FUT cards use the same chemistry rules as Heroes. This calculator models all three — pick the card type on any player row.
Does this calculator support ICON and Hero cards?
Yes. Set any player's card type to ICON, Hero or Hall of FUT. Special cards always get 3 chemistry in their preferred position: ICONs give +1 league to every league in your squad plus a +1 nation link, while Heroes and Hall of FUT give +1 league to their own league plus a +1 nation link.
Does player position affect chemistry?
Yes. A player deployed out of position gets 0 chemistry and doesn't contribute to teammates. This calculator assumes everyone is in a preferred position.
What is chemistry in FC 27, actually?
Think of it as "how much of the card shows up on the pitch". Each starter earns 0–3 chemistry points from teammates who share their club, league and nation (plus a possible manager bonus). Those points decide how much of the player's attribute potential you actually get in matches. The squad total is out of 33.
Is low chemistry really that bad? My 25-chem team plays fine.
Honestly: chemistry scales the attribute boost, it doesn't brick your players. A squad of great cards on 20–25 chemistry can absolutely still win — plenty of players report this during launch week. But higher chemistry means bigger boosts, and that gap matters most in tight games. Don't chase 33 by downgrading your best players; fix the weak links instead.
Do chemistry styles work on low-chemistry players?
They apply, but the boost is scaled by the player's own chemistry points: 0 chemistry means no style boost at all, 1 gives a small boost, 2 a medium boost, and 3 the maximum boost. So get a player to 3 chemistry first, then pick the style — see our FC 27 chemistry styles guide for the best pick by position (Hunter for pace/shooting, Shadow for pace/defending, and so on).
