How chemistry styles work
A chemistry style is a consumable you apply to a player to boost specific attributes — Hunter boosts Pace and Shooting, Shadow boosts Pace and Defending, and so on. The key rule: the boost scales with that player's own chemistry points.
| Player chemistry | Style boost |
| 0 chemistry | No boost at all |
| 1 chemistry | Small boost |
| 2 chemistry | Medium boost |
| 3 chemistry | Maximum boost |
A player on 0 chemistry plays on base card attributes — the style does nothing. At full 3 chemistry, a style like Hunter adds about +3 to its boosted attributes. So the order is always: get the player to 3 chemistry first, then pick the style. Use our FC 27 chemistry calculator to fix chemistry before spending coins on styles.

Best chemistry style by position
- Striker (ST): Hunter, Hawk, Finisher, Marksman
- Winger (LW / RW): Hunter, Engine, Deadeye, Finisher
- Attacking mid (CAM): Engine, Maestro, Deadeye, Artist
- Centre mid (CM): Engine, Powerhouse, Architect, Backbone
- Defensive mid (CDM): Shadow, Anchor, Powerhouse, Backbone
- Full-back (LB / RB): Shadow, Anchor, Catalyst, Guardian
- Centre-back (CB): Shadow, Anchor, Sentinel
- Goalkeeper (GK): Glove, Cat, Wall, Shield
Rule of thumb: boost what the card lacks, not what's already elite. A rapid winger gets more from Deadeye or Finisher than from Hunter; a quick centre-back gets more from Sentinel than from Shadow.
Chemistry styles FAQ
Do chemistry styles work if a player has low chemistry?
They apply, but the boost scales with the player's own chemistry: 0 = no boost, 1 = small, 2 = medium, 3 = maximum. Fix chemistry first, then pick the style.
What is the best chemistry style for strikers?
Hunter (Pace + Shooting) for strikers who need pace. If your striker is already fast, Finisher (Shooting + Dribbling) or Hawk (Pace + Shooting + Physical) usually give more.
What is the best chemistry style for defenders?
Shadow (Pace + Defending) for defenders who need pace — the most popular defensive pick. Anchor (Pace + Defending + Physical) is the balanced alternative; Sentinel (Defending + Physical) suits centre-backs who are already quick.
Should every attacker use Hunter?
No. Match the style to what the card lacks: Hunter for slow forwards, Finisher or Deadeye for fast ones, Engine for midfielders who need pace, passing and dribbling.
