What Finisher boosts
Finisher boosts two attribute groups: Shooting (SHO) and Dribbling (DRI). It assumes pace is handled — its whole job is turning a quick forward into a clinical one: cleaner striking, tighter close control, better composure in the box. See where it sits in our FC 27 chemistry styles guide.
How the boost scales with chemistry
The boost is not fixed — it scales with that player's own chemistry points:
| Player chemistry | Finisher boost |
| 0 chemistry | No boost at all |
| 1 chemistry | Small boost |
| 2 chemistry | Medium boost |
| 3 chemistry | Maximum boost (about +3 to Shooting and Dribbling) |
A Finisher on a 1-chemistry forward barely registers. Use our FC 27 chemistry calculator to get the player to 3 chemistry first, then apply the style.
Best positions for Finisher
- Striker (ST): for the quick striker whose finishing doesn't match his pace — the classic "fast but can't shoot" fix.
- Inverted winger (LW / RW): cuts inside at pace and needs the dribble to create the angle and the shooting to finish it.
Rule of thumb: Finisher never fixes pace. If the forward can't get into position, the style to pick is Hunter, not this one.
When NOT to pick Finisher
vs Hunter: when the forward LACKS pace, that's Hunter's job. Finisher on a slow striker is wasted — the dribble boost can't buy him the separation he doesn't have.
vs Sniper: both boost Shooting + Dribbling, so be honest with yourself — the practical difference is marginal. Finisher suits fast forwards shooting on the run; Sniper suits calm, composed box finishers. Pick whichever fits the player's personality.
Example: Finisher on a winger
Take an inverted left winger on 3 chemistry: blistering pace, decent control, but his cut-inside shots keep flying over. Finisher at 3 chemistry lifts Shooting and Dribbling (about +3 each): the cut inside is tighter and the finish lands. On 1 chemistry, the same style barely moves the needle — fix the chemistry first.
Finisher FAQ
When is Finisher the right chemistry style pick in FC 27?
Finisher is the right pick for forwards who are already fast. When pace needs no help, Shooting + Dribbling is where the value goes — cleaner strikes and better control at speed.
Finisher or Sniper in FC 27 — what's the practical difference?
Honestly, the practical difference is marginal: both boost Shooting + Dribbling. Finisher suits pacey forwards who shoot on the run; Sniper suits calm, composed box finishers. Either way, the player's chemistry matters more than which one you pick.
Finisher or Hunter for a striker in FC 27?
If the striker lacks pace, that's Hunter's job — Finisher can't fix slowness. If the striker is already quick, Finisher adds the shooting and dribbling his pace was never going to give him.
