What Glove boosts
Glove boosts three goalkeeper attribute groups: Handling (HAN), Diving (DIV), and Positioning (POS). It is the classic keeper style: hold the shot, cover the angles, stay home. Note that goalkeeper styles only apply to goalkeepers — they do nothing on an outfield player. Compare it with the full list in our FC 27 chemistry styles guide before you commit.
How the boost scales with chemistry
The boost is not fixed — it scales with that player's own chemistry points (goalkeeper styles scale exactly the same way):
| Player chemistry | Glove boost |
| 0 chemistry | No boost at all |
| 1 chemistry | Small boost |
| 2 chemistry | Medium boost |
| 3 chemistry | Maximum boost (about +3 to Handling, Diving, and Positioning) |
A Glove on a 1-chemistry keeper is coins wasted. Use our FC 27 chemistry calculator to get the keeper to 3 chemistry first, then apply the style.
Best positions for Glove
- Goalkeeper (GK) — the traditional profile: strong positioning, holds his line, deals with shots inside the box. If your keeper's game is "be in the right place and catch it", Glove is built for him.
Rule of thumb: Glove rewards keepers who don't need to be athletes. If your keeper's job description includes the words "rush", "sweep", or "launch the counter", look at Cat, Shield, or Wall instead.
When NOT to pick Glove
Glove is the right answer for one specific keeper profile — and the wrong answer for every other one. Pick the rival instead when:
- Pick Wall instead — when diving reach and distribution matter more: Wall boosts Diving and Handling like Glove but trades Positioning for Kicking. If your keeper launches attacks with his feet, Glove's Positioning is the wasted group.
- Pick Cat instead — for aggressive rushers: a keeper who charges out of his box to win 1v1s needs Reflexes and Speed to get there and react — Glove boosts neither. Cat is the rusher's toolkit.
Be honest about which keeper you actually play with, not the one you wish you had. Glove on a sweeper-keeper is three boosted groups applied to a job the keeper never does.
Example: Glove on a shot-stopper
Say your keeper is a classic line-holder with good positioning but average handling, and he sits on 3 chemistry. Applying Glove gives him the maximum Handling + Diving + Positioning boost (about +3 to each group): he holds shots he used to parry and covers his angles that bit better. Same keeper on 1 chemistry? Barely any boost — fix the chemistry first, because even the most traditional keeper gets nothing from a style at low chemistry.
Glove FAQ
Glove or Wall for a pure shot-stopper in FC 27?
Glove if your keeper is a traditional positioning-first shot-stopper who holds his line. Wall if you also want diving reach and kicking distribution — Wall trades Positioning for Kicking.
My keeper rushes out a lot — is Glove wrong for him in FC 27?
Yes, Glove is the wrong tool for a rusher. Aggressive keepers need Speed and Reflexes to win 1v1s, which Glove doesn't boost — Cat or Shield fits that profile instead.
What does the Positioning boost actually do for a goalkeeper in FC 27?
Positioning governs where the keeper stands: angle coverage, starting position for crosses, and how well he holds his line. For a traditional stay-at-home keeper it's the most important group Glove boosts.
