What Wall boosts
Wall boosts three goalkeeper attribute groups: Diving (DIV), Handling (HAN), and Kicking (KIC). Think of it as Glove with the Positioning traded in for distribution — the keeper still stops everything, but now he launches the counter too. Note that goalkeeper styles only apply to goalkeepers. Compare it with the full list in our FC 27 chemistry styles guide before you commit.
How the boost scales with chemistry
The boost is not fixed — it scales with that player's own chemistry points (goalkeeper styles scale exactly the same way):
| Player chemistry | Wall boost |
| 0 chemistry | No boost at all |
| 1 chemistry | Small boost |
| 2 chemistry | Medium boost |
| 3 chemistry | Maximum boost (about +3 to Diving, Handling, and Kicking) |
A Wall on a 1-chemistry keeper is coins wasted. Use our FC 27 chemistry calculator to get the keeper to 3 chemistry first, then apply the style.
Best positions for Wall
- Goalkeeper (GK) — the shot-stopper who distributes: elite diving reach plus a keeper whose goal kicks and throws start attacks. If your game plan runs through quick distribution, Wall covers both ends of the job.
Rule of thumb: Wall is for keepers with two jobs — save it, then launch it. If the keeper only does the first, you're paying for Kicking you never use.
When NOT to pick Wall
Wall's Kicking boost is either the reason you pick it or the reason you shouldn't. Two rivals win when distribution isn't the job:
- Pick Glove instead — for traditional positioning-first keepers: if your keeper holds his line and you never ask him to launch attacks, Glove's Positioning beats Wall's Kicking. Don't pay for distribution you don't use.
- Pick Shield instead — for sweeper-keepers behind a high line: a keeper who plays 30 yards off his line needs Speed and Reflexes to survive there. Wall gives him neither — it assumes he stays home and stops shots.
Wall is the best pure shot-stopping package that also distributes — but "also distributes" is doing real work in that sentence. If your keeper's feet never start an attack, Glove is the cleaner pick.
Example: Wall on a distributing keeper
Say your keeper has great diving reach but his goal kicks keep landing on opponents, and he sits on 3 chemistry. Applying Wall gives him the maximum Diving + Handling + Kicking boost (about +3 to each group): the shot-stopping stays elite and his distribution suddenly finds your wingers. Same keeper on 1 chemistry? Barely any boost — fix the chemistry first, because a distributor who can't reach 3 chemistry distributes nothing.
Wall FAQ
Why does Wall boost Kicking for a goalkeeper in FC 27?
Kicking is distribution: goal kicks, throws, and long balls that launch counters. Wall is the style for keepers who are expected to start attacks with their feet, not just stop shots.
Wall or Glove for my goalkeeper in FC 27?
Pick Glove for a traditional positioning-first keeper who holds his line. Pick Wall when diving reach and kicking distribution matter more than textbook positioning.
My keeper has great shot-stopping but weak distribution — is Wall the fix in FC 27?
Yes, that's exactly the Wall use case: it boosts Kicking alongside Diving and Handling. If the keeper already distributes well, though, Glove's Positioning probably adds more.
