What loyalty is

Loyalty is a status attached to an individual player card. A player becomes loyal when you pack him yourself or play matches with him. In-game, a loyal player displays +1 chemistry and carries a loyalty badge on the card. For the exact requirements in the current game version — for example how matches count — check in-game.

How the +1 works

The loyalty bonus stacks on top of everything else: club, nation and league link points, plus any manager bonus. The displayed in-game chemistry is your link chemistry plus 1 for loyalty, still capped at 3 per player. That makes loyalty genuinely useful in squad building: a player sitting at 2 chemistry from links who is loyal plays at 3 in-game — enough for the full chemistry style bonus, since styles scale with the 0/1/2/3 chemistry tiers.

The calculator gap: why numbers can differ by 1

Here is the catch: the BuffCalc chemistry calculator calculates only club, nation, league and manager links — it does not include the loyalty bonus. So if a player is loyal, the chemistry you see in-game will be 1 higher than the calculator shows. This is not a bug in either number; the calculator simply cannot know which of your cards are loyal. When comparing the two, remember this 1-point gap before "fixing" a squad that is already fine in-game.

Practical tips

• Prefer loyal cards in close calls. If two transfer targets give you identical links, the loyal one effectively starts 1 chemistry ahead in-game.
• Build to 2, let loyalty finish the job. A player only needs 2 chemistry from links to reach 3 in-game when loyal — one threshold tier less than an identical non-loyal card.
• Packed players are loyal from day one. Cards from your own packs arrive loyal, which is one reason a packed squad often shows higher chemistry than a calculator predicts.
